Yankton Riverboat Days Kiddie Parade & More!
Yankton Riverboat Days & Summer Arts Festival is just around the corner, which could also be coined the "end of summer" for students in Yankton, SD. Where has summer gone? Despite kids going back to school soon, there is plenty of time left to enjoy outdoor adventures together! The biggest outdoor event in Yankton, SD will take place August 17, 18 & 19! Get out and enjoy Yankton Riverboat Days, with this year's theme "There's No Place Like Home".
The "unofficial start to Riverboat Days" is the Kiddie Parade on Friday August 17th!
Kids are welcome to "walk" or "ride" the approximate 2 block Kiddie Parade route on Levee Street by Riverside Park. Due to construction this year, the parade route will start a bit further East than in past years. The parade line up starts at 5 PM and the parade begins at 5:30 PM with the kids following the Captain & Belle.
Will this be the year that your kid(s) gets involved in the Kiddie Parade? Walking, riding a bike or riding in a wagon? Maybe riding a Power Wheel or a scooter? Will their transportation be decked out in crepe paper, balloons, streamers or maybe a sign? Will the kids be wearing a costume or a fun hat? What fun will you have working together?!
When you head to the Kiddie Parade, be sure to bring this application form with to the line up.
The Kiddie Parade is just the beginning of a fun weekend in Yankton! There are several fun things for kids and families to watch, participate in and enjoy during Riverboat Days! To name a few:
*Kiddie Parade (see above)
*Free Kiddie Centipede Train Ride
*Free Activities for Children
*Fireworks display over the river
*Riverboat Days Parade
